Support for COVID-19

From the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV”. There are many types of human coronaviruses including some that commonly cause mild upper-respiratory tract illnesses. The word “novel” is there because it has not been previously identified. “

COVID-19 and Fear

The more we learn about COVID-19 and how it impacts us and impacts our world, the more we are afraid. Folks are afraid they will not be able to: pay rent and other bills, manage mental health, access healthcare , see friends and family, buy groceries, get a haircut, go to the doctor, support local businesses, exercise, create, focus, and many other things.

Fears

These fears are valid. Your life has changed dramatically in a very short amount of time, there has been no time to adjust or plan or process. The information changes daily and leaves us more overwhelmed (if that is possible). This “new normal” as I have heard this time referred to, is anything but normal. I am sending you a lot of love at this time, and always.

Some Resources

Below are some resources and some links to articles about what is happening in the world. It is normal to feel isolated but also be worrying about every other being in the world. If you are able to talk to someone about it, a friend, family member, connections on social media or a trusted person, I suspect they will understand. If you do not have someone to talk to please call https://coloradocrisisservices.org/ https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ https://www.samhsa.gov/find-help/disaster-distress-helpline https://www.thehotline.org/
