EMDR Video
This video is a podcast from Russel Brand. The video does not show EMDR (Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing) but talks about it, which is even better. Watching an EMDR video can be somewhat confusing, so to hear someone talk about the results that they have experienced it helpful. Joanna Ford Counseling uses EMDR to help clients heal from traumatic experiences.
EMDR and Shame
Shame can cause us to feel isolated. Shame can lead to fear, anger, embarrassment, and lack of trust, to name a few. Wikipedia defines shame as an unpleasant self-conscious emotion typically associated with a negative evaluation of the self, withdrawal motivations, and feelings of distress, exposure, mistrust, powerlessness, and worthlessness. When shame is present, EMDR resourcing will take time and patience. That is how it should be.
