Intentions Here we are, July 2019. I looked at a calendar to make sure. Do you cut yourself some slack, as you would others? If not we have time to do so. Is there someone you want to reach out to?
Intentions or Goals?
Intentions sound a bit kinder to me, less driven. The definition of intention is , according to https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/intention is a determination to act in a certain way. The definition of goal is, the end toward which effort is directed.
Goals
Goals are important, they might keep us focused while managing a chaotic life in a chaotic world. If your goal is to learn to cook a meal or dish by the end of the year, you can break it down into steps. Find a recipe, get the ingredients, find a place to cook and set aside time to try it out.
Intentions
An intention can be a tricky thing. It is okay if we get distracted from our intentions. Some folks write them down, tell another person, get a tattoo, to remind them of their intention. Quotes on this topic are confusing, for example:
“All great acts are ruled by intention. What you mean is what you get.”
― Brenna Yovanoff and “What one does is what counts. Not what one had the intention of doing.”
