People that Inspire Me

photoMy grandmother Anna Ford was well loved in her community.  She was small in stature, but her love of people was grand. I remember the energy that she shared with friends, family and strangers she met on the street.  When I stayed at her house, she would bring me along to visit with a family in the neighborhood. Why she insisted that I accompany her, I did not know back then. She worked with a boy who had muscular dystrophy. She assisted him with a therapy called patterning. It was hard for me to understand why she was spending her time doing this. Yet through this experience I learned that giving time to others was valuable, and that people need each other. I am grateful to her and to others that give their time and energy to others.
